Piccini Group appoints a new project manager at the Olembe sports complex, replacing Belgian Marc Debandt, who resignedThe Italian Piccini Group announced that Frenchman Benoît Fabre has been appointed project manager for the construction of the Olembe sports complex, replacing Belgian Marc Debandt, who resigned. The new project manager was appointed on 17 February 2018, 24 hours after the resignation of the Belgian.

The Italian Piccini group, responsible for the construction of this project to host the matches of the African Cup of Nations (CAN) 2019 in Cameroon, assured, as of Saturday 17 February 2018, that work on it continued as normal, despite the resignation of Marc Debandt, its current ex-engineer and project manager.

Likewise, the Organising Committee of CAN (Cocan) 2019 points out that Piccini is a company with a more than proven reputation and know-how, whose achievements are known worldwide. Cocan cites, for example, the Olympic Stadium in Rome or, even more recently, the Juventus Stadium in Turin, Italy.

Regarding the CFAF 163 billion Olembe project, which actually refers to a multi-sports, commercial and hotel complex, Cocan is reassuring:

"As originally planned, the Yaoundé-Olembe stadium will be ready for the competition and delivered no later than 31 December 2018, six months before the start of the event.
