Cameroon Port of Antwerp competes with nine multinationals to manage the multipurpose terminal at the Port of KribiInvesting in Cameroon - Kribi - Competition between the companies will get tough over the next two years to win the management of the port of Ktribi in Cameroon.

Necotrans, the French company was declared unwelcome in 2017 by the Cameroonian authorities to operate the multipurpose terminal at the port of Kribi.

The port authority has just published a list of companies that pre-qualified before the deadline.

In the list of 10 pre-qualified, the presence of the port of Antwerp, the first port platform in Belgium and the second in Europe, is particularly noticeable. The latter competes with Morocco's Marsa Group and International Container Terminal.

The other competitors are no less.

  • Red Sea Gateway Terminal Company limited (Saudi Arabia),
  • Sea Investment Africa SA (Belgium),
  • CDC (South Africa)
  • Transnet (South Africa),
  • CAF Ship,
  • Medlog SA (Belgium)
  • the Maritime Delivery Agency (Cameroon) .

Pending the outcome of this competition, the Kribi multipurpose terminal is operated by the consortium of Cameroonian companies called Kribi Polyvalent Multiple Operators (Kpmo).

To this end, the Autonomous Port of Kribi and Kpmo signed a sub-contract on 9 July for a period of two years.
