Coffee roasters flock to Cameroon coffee tasting days

(Investing in Central Africa -Cameroon) - It was held on 30 October 2019, in Place de l'Indépendance, in the centre of the city of Yaoundé, the capital of Cameroon, the Cameroon Coffee Tasting Day. Instead of the five roasters, who participated in this event in September 2019, there are eleven roasters present this time.

This influx of roasters seems to be arousing growing interest among the general public for this event. It has been relocated for a month from the esplanade of the Ministry of Trade, to this more spacious and popular venue bordering the Cameroon capital's city hall.

Organised in recent years, the Cameroon coffee tasting days aim to promote the know-how of local roasters, but above all to stimulate local consumption.

Together with Festicoffee, the international coffee festival organised annually by the Interprofessional Cocoa and Coffee Council (CICC)tasting days have, in recent years, contributed to improving the business of coffee processors in Cameroon, according to the Ministry of Trade.

Under the theme 'Act now for coffee', Festicoffee 2019 was officially launched by Trade Minister Luc Magloire Mbarga Atangana.
