Gas extraction: Gaz du Cameroun is looking for a partner

The aim is to share the costs, risks and benefits of drilling the Matanda gas block.

In a briefing note addressed to its shareholders on its operations in Cameroon, Victoria Oil & Gas, the parent company of Cameroonian operator Gaz du Cameroun, announced that its local subsidiary is still looking for a partner to share the costs, risks and benefits of drilling the Matanda block, which straddles the border between Cameroon's Littoral and Southwest regions.

The Matanda block, covering an area of 1,196 billion cubic feet, is divided between land
(70% of the total area) and offshore (in shallow water), has a capacity of 1,196 bcm of potential gas resources. In 2021, Gaz du Cameroun was granted a one-year extension to continue exploration operations in this block by the state.
