CENTRAL AFRICAN CUSTOMS AND ECONOMIC UNION (UDEAC)
Acr. of: Union Douaniere et Economique de l'Afrique Centrale (Eng. Central African Customs and Economic Union).
Customs Union established in Bangui (Central African Republic) on 8.12.1964 from five countries:
- Cameroon,
- Chad,
- Gabon,
- Central African Republic,
- Republic of Congo
to which Equatorial Guinea was added in January 1984, all of which are part of the French franc area (franc CFA).
It came into force on 1.1.1966 and was incorporated in 1994 in the CEMAC (Communauté Économique et Monétaire de l'Afrique Centrale).
UDEAC arms are the BDEAC (Banque de développement des États de l'AfriqueCentrale), EIED (École Inter-Etats des Douanes), ISTA (Institut Sous-régional multisectoriel de Technologie Appliquée, de planification et d'évaluation de projets), ISSEA (Institut Sous-régional de Statistique et d'Économie Appliquée).pliquée).
