On 16 December 2019, twelve new commissioners of the Central African Financial Markets Supervisory Commission (Cosumaf) took the ritual oath of office before the Court of Justice of the Community (CJC), sitting in an ordinary hearing at N ' Djamena in Chad.
The twelve new commissioners consist of six members and six alternates. Julienne Elanga Ngaporo , President of the European Court of Justice recommended that recipients be careful not to "give Cosumaf the image of a group of corrupt men and women who only think of themselves".
The new members of this commission represent Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon and Chad. Others are present on behalf of the institutions that are Beac, Cobac, CJC. The other two members are chartered accountants and appointed by the president of Cosumaf.
The role of the commissioners is to ensure the execution of the tasks of the supervisory authority, of financial market regulation and supervision of theCentral Africa. A function they perform by ensuring the protection of savings invested in real estate values and the provision of information to investors. Finally, they ensure the proper functioning of the market.
