He started in the Political Affairs Office, before being transferred to Buenos Aires in 1989 and Freiburg in 1991, until 1994. Then he returned to Italy, still in Political Affairs until 1998, when he was transferred for the first time to the continent for which he developed a strong affection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"alignleft\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/aedic.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/dr-filippo-scammacca-del-murgo-e-del-agnone-mentre-presenta-lettera-di-credenziali-a-l-presidnete-del-Botswana.jpg\" alt=\"dr filippo scammacca of murgo and agnone presenting letter of credentials to the president of Botswana\" class=\"wp-image-10786\" title=\"\"><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>In this 14 March 2016 photo, Italian Ambassador to Botswana Dr. Filippo Scammacca Del Murgo and Dell Agnone, presents his Letters of Credence to the President of the Republic of Botswana, His Excellency Lt. Gen. Dr. Seretse Khama Ian Khama.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Botswana and Italy established diplomatic relations in 1970 and have cooperated in many areas such as military, energy, education and others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Speaking in a media interview after his presentation, he emphasised that his country has a growing interest in Africa. For the <strong>Botswana<\/strong> cooperation has already been initiated with the signing of a memorandum of understanding with the Minister of Environment, Wildlife and Tourism, Honourable Tshekedi Khama, on measures to adapt to global warming.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Between 1998 and 2001 he was in Cairo, and will continue his career in Africa in Zambia, from 2015 to 2019, as well as working in the area during his time in the Italian Cooperation Offices, where he is in charge of relations with the World Bank and the African Development Bank between 2006 and 2011 and for which department he is head between 2020 and 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Sulle_tracce_di_Livingstone\"><\/span>On the trail of Livingstone<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><em>As well as a passion for Africa,<\/em> which also prompted him to publish a book on the history of Italians in Zambia and Malawi, <em>Ambassador Filippo Scammacca del Murgo<\/em> also served in Germany, first in Berlin between 2001 and 2006 and then in the Munich Consulate between 2011 and 2015.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/1_P3DcsuY9k\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The AEDIC Association, welcomes and wishes the new Ambassador to Central Africa every success in the mighty task of establishing and strengthening relations between our two countries, our association will be at her side to help her in this great project of international cooperation.<\/strong><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dr. Filippo Scammacca Del Murgo and Dell Agnone is the new Ambassador of Italy in Yaound\u00e9, Cameroon, (Central Africa with a mandate also for Chad and the Central African Republic, is Minister Plenipotentiary Filippo Scammacca del Murgo.
